Graduates of the Department of Economics and Sustainable Development have the opportunity for a multi-dimensional professional pathway as Economists, Educators and Specialists in Sustainability and Sustainable Development. The curriculum ensures specific professional rights for graduates which include membership in the Chamber of Economics (Decision of the Economic Chamber of Greece, No. Protocol Φ/1/854/5-2-2021) and the certification of their Pedagogical and Teaching Competencies.
There is also an effort to broaden the range of students' professional rights in other professional fields, such as Tourism, Social Entrepreneurship and Culture, through the cooperation with relevant Professional, Development and Institutional Bodies.
In particular, graduates, based on the knowledge and skills acquired during their studies, can work as:
1st allocation as teachers of ΠE80-Economics and 2nd, 3rd allocation in other subjects of Economics and Social Studies as follows:
(technical offices, companies, the wider public sector, NGOs)
Graduates may work in commercial businesses, cultural institutions, tourism businesses, environmental consulting companies, consulting agencies, banks, associations and chambers of commerce, non-profit organizations and local municipalities.
Last but not least, graduates can also pursue a position, through the SUPREME COUNCIL FOR CIVIL PERSONNEL SELECTION (ASEP), in the public service sector. (according to the file with no. 7896/2019//1/2019-09/05/2019 of the Supreme Counsil for Civil Personnel Selection ).
The Undergraduate Programme also prepares students of the Department to continue their studies at postgraduate level in the fields of Economics, Education and Culture, Sustainable Development, Social and Inclusive Economy, Public Health and Nutrition, Creativity and Innovation, Special Education, etc.
