Ηolds a Ph.D. from New Jersey Institute of Technology, U.S.A. (1995) in Chemical Engineering and a Diploma in the same field from University of Patras, Greece (1990). He is currently serving as a Professor at Harokopio University, School of Environment, Geography and Applied Economics. He served as Vice Rector of Harokopio University from 2016 to 2024 and Direstor of the Postgraduate Study Programme on “Sustainable Development” (2018-2024).

He teaches Household Technology, Human Ecology, and Liquid and Solid Waste Management at the undergraduate study program, and Natural Resources Management, Life Cycle Assessment, Culture and Environment, Tourism Development Plans at the postgraduate study programme.

His fields of research interest include life cycle assessment of products and processes; the environmental impact of households; food and food waste environmental impacts. He has been a member or leading researcher in more than 10 funded research projects. He has published more than 50 research articles in SCOPUS peer-reviewed journals and participated in a large number of international and national conferences.
