Panagiota Karametou is a member of the Laboratory Teaching Staff of the Department of Economics and Sustainable Development of the School of Environment, Geography and Applied Economics of Harokopio University of Athens and a member of the Laboratory of Applied Economics and Sustainable Development.
He holds a degree from the Department of Home Economics of Harokopio University and an MSc in “Sustainable Local Development” from the Department of Economics and Sustainable Development of Harokopio University. In 2006 he received the “Postgraduate Certificate in European Spatial Planning (PgCESP)” from the University of Newcastle, UK. He also holds a PhD in Local Development from Harokopio University (with a scholarship from the State Scholarship Foundation).
Her research interests focus on sustainable local and regional rural and urban development, socio-economic determinants of local and regional development, social sustainability, social innovation, social capital, social cohesion and development and ESG criteria (with a focus on social criteria).
He has participated in scientific conferences and workshops in Greece and abroad as well as in funded research projects on Sustainable Local and Regional Development and has published articles in reputable Greek and foreign language journals.
Since November 2024 she is deputy scientific manager of the project entitled: GAME4CHANGE Digital Serious Games for Climate Change Education (project number 2024-1-PT01-KA220-HED-000256244 which is co-funded by the European Union, category Erasmus KA2+, HED.
